Load Management
The io7 Sense can provide either static or dynamic load management, maximising your charging speeds whilst at the same time protecting the building and supply.
io7 Sense
The io7 Sense can control up to 16 io7s and has the ability to take the power consumption of all sockets in use into a load calculation, allowing you to isolate specific chargers for VIP personal charging, while not decreasing the consumption of chargers identified for visitors or other EV charging parking spaces.
The setup of a system using io7s and an io7 Sense simplifies the connection method for the site owner giving them a single connection to a management platform, and the option to switch between SIM providers or WiFi/Ethernet connectivity whenever needed.
In addition, when dynamic load management is required, the io7 Sense has a simple connection from the building MID meter to directly read the building usage to balance the EV charging usage accordingly.
Dynamic Load Management
Dynamic load management monitors the building’s energy supply and usage, calculating the power available and distributing it equally to the EV charger installation.
As the building power consumption increases (heavy machinery being switched on or off for example), the additional dynamic load management hardware will increase or decrease the power available to the EV charger installation.
Static Load Management
Static Load Management involves the installation of EV charging equipment on a dedicated power supply that has a known fixed power capacity. The EV chargers are designed to effectively manage this power supply by evenly distributing the load between them as more sockets are utilised. This can be done at Cloud level (using back-office software) or locally to the chargers using additional hardware.
